Creative Mornings: Austin

After I gave a talk on the theme of Backwards at Creative Mornings Austin in May 2013, I was asked by organizer Ben Thoma to support the ATX chapter with some design work. Naturally, I said yes.

I produced a large batch of quirky illustrations that reflect the creative culture of Austin, with the intention that those drawings be used to produce a 2-color screen printed shirt. The shirt design uses burnt orange and silver colors printed on a heather charcoal AA shirt.
The illustrated elements that I created don't take themselves too seriously, which is a reflection of the fun, vibrant spirit of the ATX chapter.
The Creative Mornings ATX team has since used the illustrations for various marketing purposes. The drawing of the capital building was used to create a laser-cut 3D wooden holiday ornament in partnership with MAKEATX, just in time for Christmas 2014.
Various drawings were used on the backs of a 5 business card system.
CM ATX also used the illustrations in groups for keynote slides.
